“The one who will not use the rod hates his child, but the one who loves their child disciplines diligently.” Proverbs 13:24 CSB
The Book of Proverbs is a great source of practical knowledge, practical guidance and divine wisdom. When it comes to our children, we have to risk our children’s displeasure in order to correctly discipline. Proverbs says, “A youngster’s heart is filled with foolishness, but discipline will drive it away (Prov.22:15). An adult child said to her parents while raising their own child, “Now I know what you went through with me.” In the world, there are laws against disciplining your child and we know there are abuses on the hands of the wicked.
Why does God want us to discipline our children and love them until it hurts?
God is about building His church through a Blessed Family by living a Blessed Life right her on earth before we leave to live with him forever and ever…
Some parents refuse to bless their children, perhaps trying to be patient to see that they do the right things, have the right attitudes, and make the right choices. But this doesn’t mean being patient with any wrong action or attitude which leads to danger. The bible says physical discipline may be needed at times and may save them from death (Prov 23:13). The bible says, “My child listen and be wise. Keep your heart on right course. Do not carouse with drunks and gluttons; they are on their way to poverty; Too much sleep clothes a person to rags.” Teach your children the right path so when they are older they will not depart from it.
Part of a Christian mom’s duty is to help her children find out how God has gifted them so they can generously give back to God’s church. We were not just born without purpose. How silly is that! Maybe they are good at organizing or good at working technical equipment or may have a strong-will. Maybe that strong-willed attitude will bring in the sheaves of new converts.
Psalms 112 speaks of the State of the Blessed Man. We want to live Blessed lives and we can as we teach the next generation what is required of them as Christians.
“Happy are those who fear the Lord. Yes happy are those who delight in doing what He commands. Their children will be successful everywhere: an entire generation of godly people will be blessed.”
You Be Blessed, Dr. Dowe
