Title: The one and only Resurrection - Do you believe? 4/16/2023
“Finally, the other disciple (John), who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead… Then Jesus told him (doubting Thomas) “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” John 20:8,9,29
After Jesus was crucified, news that he was alive began to spread among His followers. Even His disciples did not believe He would have to die and rise again. Particularly, one disciple betrayed Him (Judas), one denied Him (Peter) and one doubted Him (Thomas). After 3 years of Jesus teaching them about God and His purpose, the realization of meeting The Truth was met at first with hesitation but eventually with hope and enthusiasm. Wherever people were confronted with the reality of Him, and His resurrection, their lives were transformed. In fact, that same transforming, powerful experience can be yours today, too! As you read Matt 28:16-20; Mark 16:1-14; Luke 24:36-42; re-read John 20:8,9,29 above, you will come to realize the authenticity of Jesus. His Resurrection story is both told by others but established in historical records, making it factual, and witnessed by many. It is so told that it outstandingly undergirds TRUTH. It is not just some story but makes our God and Christianity the first religion where we LIVE NOW and LIVE IN ETERNITY with our God- The Father, The Son and The HolySpirit!! Check me on this- NO other religion can state this fact.
