“Submit to God…Draw Close to God, and He will draw close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, you double minded.” James 4:8 KJV
Problems in the “Churches” today, lot of times, has to do with celebrities rather than servants. . . “Guilty, as I am too”, is not realizing God’s Grace and Mercy. In Grace: God gives through Christ what we don’t deserve.
In Mercy: God gives to Christ what we do deserve.
“Guard and Keep” that good deposit through the Holy Spirit that lives within us” (2 Tim 1:14).
That good deposit is our “Faith” through the Holy Spirit that lives within us. For we were once in darkness in the world, in the flesh, and in sin (Eph 2:1-3). But through Jesus we live in the light! Ephesians tells us there are 3 enemies that want to keep us in darkness; to turn us away from God: World, Flesh, and the Devil.
How do we overcome the 3 enemies? Christ has already delivered us from theses. James tells: Submit and Draw Near to God. The bible tells us that David after he had committed adultery with Bathsheba and afterwards killed her husband; he hid and did not confront his sins. He hid them in his heart. Have you ever tried to hide or ignore your sins? I have too. There became a war within between David and God. The high price David paid to be at war with God is in Psalms 32 and 51. Read it for yourself!
When we become sick, tired and feed up, submission is waiting. God is waiting on us. Submission is an act of our will; It is saying, “Not my will but your will be done”. “Guilty, as I am too”
“Draw Close to God, and He will draw close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, you double minded. Humble yourselves before God…” James 4:7,8,9 KJV Dr. Dowe
