TITLE: Gospel’s Goal: Spiritual Transformation 10/20/2021 “We proclaim him, warning and teaching everyone with “ALL WISDOM”, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ” Colossians 1:28

As Christians, We must be personally committed as a messenger of Jesus Christ who focuses on maturing and growing in Jesus Christ while remaining faithful to Him and others! Spiritual Maturity is our goal TODAY!

How would you feel if u received a letter from a man in prison whom you had never met, while you’re attending Church services? This was the Apostle Paul’s predicament described in Chapter 1 of Colossian in the bible. The Apostle Paul started his ministry with the goal of spreading the “Gospel of Jesus Christ” around the world back in 50 AD. He was a servant of the Lord by God’s Commission (V.25). Paul would write to the churches he helped to organize several Epistle letters of encouragement. The pastor of the Colossian Church whose name is Epaphras was mentored by Paul. Epaphras was visiting Paul in prison when the church received Paul’s letter from prison. Apparently, false teachers were spreading in the area a Gnostic message that was in contrast to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and discrediting Paul. Since Paul had not met the Colossians yet, he wanted to give them “The Truth” of the Gospel that would keep them encouraged!

Paul preached a ministry of reconciliation that tells us there is good news that, “save we are” by believing in Jesus and having faith in HIM only in Spiritual Transformation (2 Cor 5:17-21). Paul took his present suffering of imprisonment in rejoicing. He knew there is a special blessing and reward reserved for the faithful believer who suffers for Christ’s sake and for the Gentile (Matt 5:10-12). As Gentile Christians, we must suffer too (2 Cor 1:5). Old Testament prophets searched diligently to know God’s plan to enter in holiness with him. This mystery of this grace is revealed Today only through Jesus Christ (1 Pet 1:10-12). Paul says, “For we preach, proclaim, exalt HIM, Jesus Christ only (V. 28 above) and not a system of philosophy, astrological angels, religious and dietary traditions like the false teachers”. No new religion required.

Paul goes on to build up Christians in the Truths of Christ that finds “All the Wisdom of God”. This hope of Christ lies within us today. This world’s false teachings tells us there are “hidden-knowings” which teases curiosity. Evidences of Spiritual Maturity: Christ daily enlightens and directs you in God’s WORD (Knowledge); Encourage others daily that brings out their best, Knit Love that makes you a peace-maker not a trouble-maker, and make use of the vast resources YOU have in Christ (Wisdom), and then walk in Full assurance of heart that You are a Child of a living God-Jesus in YOU! (Understanding).
