THE WORD OF THE WEEK

TITLE: “The Parousia” Week 1-7 of MAY 2022

“For we say this to you by a word from the Lord: We who are still alive at the Lord’s coming will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then those who are still alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17

Today’s lesson focuses on the greatest concern as Christians. We live with hopes of living in Jesus, Our Lord forever. Do you have this hope today? Which way will you go?

We are to be therefore ready for the Son of Man comes when we thinketh not (Lk12:40). Paul clarified to the Thessalonians in the bible that #1 Christ will be back #2 To those already dead in Christ will meet HIM first and #3 Those believers alive in HIM will unite with Christ in the air in the clouds. There will be a SHOUT, a loud VOICE from the archangel, and the TRUMPHET of GOD’s power announcing the arrival of The Son, Jesus, our Lord and Savior. This is the second coming, “The Parousia.” or called “The Rapture”. Of course we know the first coming has occurred when he was born in infant form and lived humanly perfect in this world without sin. For the atonement of our sins, he then suffered, carrying all sin on a cross to die. Blood covered it all. Yet, Which way will u go?

We should live each moment in the expectation of our Lord’s return, lest he finds us out of His will. (1Jn 3:1-2) Yes, our meeting with the Lord will be a time of rejoicing, glorifying and admonishing Him as King. However, as believers, we’re judged on our labor of work and production of fruit at the “Judgement Seat of Christ” (2 Cor 5:10) during “The Parousia.” The Word tells us the Lord will meet us before the Tribulation and Great Wrath of God in the finality (1Thess 1:10, 5:9). John 12 tells us that the unbelievers are made un-aware of made uninterpretable to understand things of the gospel. Millions of people will vanish instantly during this time.

Who will hear the SHOUT, the VOICE and the TRUMPET of GOD? We Christians have wonderful assurance and hope because of the resurrection of Jesus. “Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as we know that our labor is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Cor 15:58
